Boston Bruins Stun Fans As They Place Unexpected Forward On Waivers Following Troubling Performance

This season has been a struggle for the Boston Bruins, and earlier in the year Don Sweeney claimed Oliver Wahlstrom off of waivers from the New York Islanders in hopes to help his team.

Unfortunately for the Bruins this was not the case, and Oliver Wahlstrom has not fit in well with the organization.

With how poorly his play has been this season, the Bruins have healthy scratched him in a bunch of games, and have now decided to make a move involving the forward.

Today multiple insiders including Frank Seravalli have confirmed that Oliver Wahlstrom has been placed on the waiver wire making him available to all 32 teams in the NHL for free.

This was unexpected especially considering he was at the Boston Bruins practice this morning, and led the stretch for the team.

This season has been a struggle for Wahlstrom, who has spent some time with both the Boston Bruins and New York Islanders.

Wahlstrom has appeared in 43 games this season split between the Bruins and Islanders and has just three goals, and three assists for six points on the year while being a minus-6.

It will be interesting to see if maybe he is traded or if the Bruins are just opening a spot on the roster for someone else who could help.
