It has just been confirmed to the media that one of the Boston Bruins top prospects has just officially hit a career low, and it's shocking.

As the Boston Bruins organization continues to push through their re-tool process to become bigger competitors for the 2025/26 NHL season, new insight has revealed some concerns regarding a player within the franchise, and it doesn't look to good for the organization.

Boston Bruins' top prospect, Cole Spicer, will not play at Arizona State University for the 2025/26 season

The Boston Bruins' 2022 NHL draft pick, Cole Spicer, has already undergone a bumpy hockey journey thus far into his career, and the 21-year old has just hit yet another obstacle.
As it has been revealed that this forward prospect will not be moving forward with his commitment to Arizona State University, per Brad Elliot Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald.
Spicer, who dealt with health issues and was later deemed academically ineligible, endured two seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, but left midway through his 2023/24 campaign.
He later returned to the USHL's Dubuque Fighting Saints for the 2024/25 season, where he featured nine goals and 35 points within 37 games.
But, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation, Spicer's decision to split from ASU has nothing related to academics, and everyone to do with his «significant injury issues.»
Take a look:
Within Spicer's time at Duluth, he dealt with concussion issues, and was even later diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome during his recovery.
This eventually concluded to Spicer undergoing mental health issues and ultimately led to his decision to step away from hockey for some time before returning to Boston for development camp in 2024.
However, the latest update regarding Spicer revealed that he did not attend the Bruins' development camp last month, and was not even listed on the camp roster.
While the 21-year old has officially aged out of USHL play, it is worth noting that this forward does have two years of NCAA eligibility left, while assuming he is in healthy enough shape to return to hockey.
