Boston Bruins trade longtime defensemen: An emotional confession comes after the completed deal

During the NHL trade deadline, the Boston Bruins ended up moving on from several players, one of those players were longtime defenseman Brandon Carlo.
Four months after being traded to their divisional rival in the Toronto Maple Leafs, Carlo has officially said his goodbyes to the Boston Bruins.

I feel so lucky to have worn that jersey, to have called this city home, and to have started my family here,» Carlo captioned the carousel of photos, which included several stills during his time with the Bruins. «The memories on the ice were special - but it's the people, the teammates, the friendships that truly changed my life. I'll forever be grateful for every moment, every lesson, and every bond built along the way. Thank you, Boston for everything. Excited for what's next!"
Multiple other big names were also traded during the NHL trade deadline including Charlie Coyle - who was then again traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in the off-season.
Brad Marchand was another one - he then signed a six-year deal with the Florida Panthers after winning his second Stanley Cup.
During the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, the Boston Bruins drafted Carlo with the 37th overall pick.
He ended up becoming a staple on defense for the Bruins for nearly a decade.
Now Carlo is with the Toronto Maple Leafs and has two years remaining on his contract before hitting free agency, but there have been some rumors that the Leafs may look to trade Carlo.
