Brad Marchand's return to Boston just took an ugly turn for the worst
A recent announcement has revealed that Brad Marchand's return to Boston just took an ugly turn for the worst.
It seems as though every time Boston Bruins fans try to move on from the departure of the team's beloved 16-year veteran and captain,
Brad Marchand, new insight somehow surfaces regarding him.
Brad Marchand hasn't made it easy for Bruins fans to move on
This longtime fan-favourited veteran was traded to the organization's divisional rival, the Florida Panthers, at the NHL Trade Deadline in March, which caught a majority of Bruins fans by surprise.
However, not only did the Bruins deal Marchand to a division rival after failing to come to an agreement on a new contract extension, but they also had to watch him help the Panthers win their second Stanley Cup in a row.
And it doesn't stop there.
Boston Bruins fans were holding onto hope, praying that Marchand and Boston could make an agreement once his contract expired at the beginning of this year's offseason.
However, rather than the Bruins and
Brad Marchand making up, the former veteran ended up decisioning to return to the Florida Panthers on a six-year deal.
Luckily Bruins fans will still be able to see this forward frequently, since these two franchises are in the same division, the Panthers and Bruins will see plenty of each other when it comes to the 2025/26 NHL season.
And that also means that Marchand will be able to finally play his first game back in Boston, but this time, a member of the opposition, and
David Pastrnak has already revealed what he should expect.
David Pastrnak has broke his silence regarding what Marchand should expect in their first game against each other
David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand were longtime teammates in Boston, and now that Marchand has departed, Pastrnak has revealed he has another thing coming.
«We played a big part of our careers together and our wives are also great friends. The bond is there, so of course it was difficult to see him leave.» Pastrnak stated. «I'm not happy about the Stanley Cup for Florida, but I am happy for Marchand. Then when he signed a big contract, I kind of let him know that I would make the first game against us a little difficult for him. I am looking forward to it. We always had tough battles together, even in practice.»
These two new rivals won't have to wait long to play against each other either, as Marchand and the Panthers are scheduled to face the Bruins in Boston in a little over a month, October 21.
