New report unveils a Boston Bruins' newly acquired head coach, Marco Sturm, made a strange admission ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 NHL season.
Following an extremely underwhelming season last year for the Big B, they will not be entering a new campaign with intention and a clear vision for the future.
After the Boston Bruins fired former head coach, Jim Montgomery, during last season and traded their fan favourited captain, Brad Marchand, it is evident this organization has turned to a new page.
And this page is going to be led by newly acquired head coach, Marco Sturm, who was given his new position this summer.
Boston Bruins head coach, Marco Sturm, returns to the franchise
Marco Sturm played over 300 games within the Boston Bruins franchise and has made his return to the organization, but this time, rather than being on the bench, he will be behind it.
Sturm has impressive coaching experience, from being an assistant coach for four years for the Los Angeles Kings, to the last three as the head coach of the Ontario Reign in the AHL.
However, Sturm intended to be extremely selective regarding his first head coaching position in the National Hockey League, and he expressed it was the perfect match with the Boston Bruins and that it just felt right.
«You know, a lot of people ask me, 'When were you ready?' It just clicked. And I felt it. I think after year two, and especially this summer, I felt it. I felt this is the time,» Sturm stated. «Timing is everything, and I couldn't have ended up in a better spot with Boston.»
