Completed signing by Bruins GM Don Sweeney: He is receiving some praise

During the off-season, the Boston Bruins made a bunch of signings, but one in particular, general manager Don Sweeney, is receiving praise for.
This off-season, Sweeney ended up re-signing Morgan Geekie to a six-year, $33 million deal, and it has paid off big time for them so far.
Many believed that Geekie was going to get traded last year during the NHL trade deadline.
This was because he had a rough start to the year, but in the second half he ended up picking things up.
Geekie ended up setting a new career high in goals with 33, after having a very sluggish start to the year.
Geekie has been huge for the Bruins so far
After landing his big payday, Geekie has had a breakout season for the Bruins once again.
Last year, he finished the year with 57 points, and he is currently on pace to score 54 goals this season.

Geekie is making Don Sweeney look like a genius right now, especially considering a lot of fans wanted the team to trade him.
This signing is looking like a home run for the Bruins right now.
So far, in 12 games this season, Geekie is already at eight goals on the year and has 10 points.
As the season has gone on, the 27-year-old forward is only progressing for the Bruins.
Recently, David Pastrnak even spoke on Geekie, stating he has the skill set to hit 50 goals in his career, and he will one day.
