Don Sweeney's fate with the Boston Bruins confirmed in statement by analyst: It all lies on this season

It's unclear whether or not Don Sweeney has done enough his off-season to improve the Boston Bruins heading into next year, but this season could determine his future with the organization.
The Boston Bruins made one big move during free agency, and it was trading for Edmonton Oilers forward Viktor Arvidsson.
Entering the off-season, Don Sweeney needed to upgrade several departments on the Bruins roster, and it doesn't seem like Don Sweeney did that.
The Bruins needed up a top-six center, and a right-shot defenseman, Sweeney opted to bring back defenseman Henri Jokiharju, who they acquired during the NHL trade deadline.
A move Sweeney should make to save his job
Entering next year, if the Boston Bruins do not feel like Don Sweeney is doing a good job with the team, the Bruins could opt to get rid of him.
One move that could save his job is trading for St. Louis Blues forward Jordan Kyrou.
Jordan Kyrou's name has been on the trade market a lot this off-season, and Don Sweeney would be making a huge mistake if he is not calling the Blues to see what the price would be.
Kyrou scored 36 goals last season, with 34 assists under Jim Montgomery. He does come with a big contract at $8.125 million a year, but he is signed long-term, until the 2030-31 season.
To acquire him, the Boston Bruins would have to get rid of a couple of players to make room for his cap, and two players have surfaced as trade candidates according to causewaycrowd.com.
Pavel Zacha could be someone heading back in the deal, but that wouldn't be enough cap to acquire Kyrou. The Bruins could also look to dump Casey Mittlestadt to make room.
The Bruins would have to offer more, obviously, but at the end of the day, this off-season and next regular season could be the deciding factor on if Don Sweeney has a future with the organization, or if the Bruins fire him.
