There have been multiple candidates for the head coaching position in Boston, but it was revealed that Rick Tocchet is their main priority for the job.
Yesterday, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman released a new episode of his 32 Thoughts Podcast, and stated that Tocchet has been interviewing teams, rather than being interviewed by them.
Friedman also went on to say that he doesn't think that Tocchet is a fit in Boston, as they don't like to pay high for head coaches and Tocchet ended up rejecting a $4 million offer from the Vancouver Canucks.
Friedman on 32TP says it seems like Rick Tocchet is interviewing teams rather than teams interviewing him, he has a certain standard for which market he wants to coach in, but EF is unsure if Boston is a fit, Vancouver offered $4M, Bruins don't usually go that high for a HC.
It Was Just Confirmed For The Bruins And Rick Tocchet
Darren Dreger also went on to reveal that Tocchet is going to land his next head coaching job this week.
According to TSN's Darren Dreger, Tocchet won't have to wait much longer for a new head coaching role. Dreger indicates that Tocchet will land a new gig this week, and the Bruins, Flyers, and Kraken have been the most interested suitors, similarly to Friedman.
