Marco Sturm speaks on Hampus Lindholm's injury to the media
Today, the Bruins ended up placing Hampus Lindholm on injury reserve, but before they did that, head coach Marco Sturm spoke on his injury, and it seems like he will be out awhile.
Just this evening, the Boston Bruins
placed defenseman Hampus Lindholm on injury reserve.
Along with that, the Bruins ended up calling up defenseman
Jonathan Aspirot from the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League.
The Bruins have placed Hampus Lindholm on injured reserve and called up Jonathan Aspirot.
Seems Lindholm will miss at least one more game. Aspirot gives them an extra body as they head to Ottawa. Lindholm can still be activated at any point as he's already missed enough time.
Before placing
Lindholm on IR, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm ended up speaking on his injury a bit to the media.
Sturm, yesterday before the Bruins game against the Avalanche, stated that they thought Lindholm was going to be another day or two before he was good to go.
Unfortunately this hasn't been the case, and Sturm stated that everyone is just going to have to be patient.
Marco Sturm on Hampus Lindholm not suiting up today
"We thought another day or two ... we all have to be patient, unfortunately."
With these comments, it feels like Lindholm can be out longer-term and longer than they originally expected.
Losing Lindholm is a big loss for the Bruins, not only his play on the ice, but his leadership he brings to the team as well.
