The Boston Bruins' lineup has been shredded after the trade deadline in March, and GM Don Sweeney could revitalize it with forward Nikolaj Ehlers in July.

The Boston Bruins need to continue the retool during the offseason, as it's a ridiculous notion that Don Sweeney ever intended to win anything with this lineup.
David Pastrnak remains the top winger in the lineup, and could use some other weapons to help push the team into contention.
The Bruins are notoriously weak on the left side, given that they have Cole Koepke, Jakub Lauko, Morgan Geekie, and Marat Khusnutdinov occupying these spots up and down the lineup.
The team will have to upgrade at left wing, and one player Don Sweeney could pursue in July is current Winnipeg Jets forward, Nikolaj Ehlers.
His contract expires at the end of the 2024-2025 season and pays him an average of $6.0 million AAV.
There's speculation that the long-term Jets winger could earn upwards of $8 million to $8.25 million on his next deal. But for the Bruins, money should be no object for Ehlers, who at this moment in the NHL season is a 61-point winger (24 goals, 37 assists) on one of the best teams in the NHL.
He would complement David Pastrnak well on the left, and help be another skilled winger in the lineup.
The Bruins are in desperate need after the bloodbath in March.
In the meantime, we'll have to wait and see how the situation in Winnipeg plays out, considering the Jets have prospects they could rely on with Brad Lambert waiting in the wings in Manitoba.
