The Boston Bruins issued a special announcement involving Patrice Bergeron to the media
With the off-season well underway, the Boston Bruins just issued a special announcement involving former captain Patrice Bergeron.
Entering the 2023-24 season, it was unclear whether or not the Boston Bruins were going to announce a new captain.
Well they did. They ended up announcing
Brad Marchand as the captain of the organization, but it didn't last long.
Now the Boston Bruins are looking to possibly name a new captain for the 2025-26 season, but it's unclear whether or not one will be made.
Ever since retiring from the NHL, the Boston Bruins have also been looking to find a center to replace him. Last off-season, the Bruins believed that
Elias Lindholm could be a replacement for him, and signed him to a massive deal.
Lindholm struggled during his first year, but he had an impressive showing at the IIHF Word Championship, leading all Sweden players with 8 goals, 6 assists, 14 points in 13 games, and the Bruins are hopeful he can have a bounce back year.

It's clear that the Boston Bruins miss having Patrice Bergeron on the ice, but they took time out of their day today to wish him a happy birthday.
