The Boston Bruins Just Confirmed It For Captain Brad Marchand And It's Terrible
The Boston Bruins just made an announcement confirming Brad Marchand's status for the remainder of the game and it's not good.
Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand left the game vs the Pittsburgh Penguins today after taking an unfortunate hit from behind from Penguins defenseman P.O. Joesph, and now the Bruins just confirmed his status for the remainder of the game.
Marchand was in the corner going to retrieve a puck when he lost his footing as P.O. Joesph went to throw a hit.
Marchand went awkwardly into the boards and laid on the ice motionless for awhile.
Marchand down for a long time. Joseph got his stick in Marchand's skates for a can-opener, and then finished the hit into the boards with Marchand going down in an awkward position.
Marchand laid there with the trainer for awhile before being helped off of the ice by the trainer and David Pastrnak.
As he headed down the tunnel, Marchand looked to be in a lot of discomfort.
Marchand hurt on this hit from Joseph. Looked like he kinda lost his footing as the hit was coming, didn't seem that vicious.
The Bruins Have Confirmed It For Brad Marchand
Now the Boston Bruins have just confirmed that Brad Marchand will more then likely not return to the game after suffering an upper-body injury.
UPDATE: Brad Marchand (upper-body) is unlikely to return to today's game.
This is terrible news. The Bruins are only four points out of a playoff spot and are already down Trent Frederic, Hampus Lindholm, Charlie McAvoy, and now Brad Marchand.
Hopefully for the Bruins Brad Marchand will not be out long-term.
