A major announcement was just issued by the Boston Bruins that have got fans excited.
The Boston Bruins are set to visit Tampa Bay tomorrow night, and it's going to be a normal game for the two teams, but an announcement from the Boston Bruins today confirmed that these two teams will play a different type of game against each other next year.
It was just announced by the Boston Bruins that the two teams are set to play in the NHL Stadium Series on Februaru 1st, 2026 at Raymond James Stadium which is the home of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
There will also be another outdoor game taking place in the Sunshine State next season as the Florida Panthers are going to host the New York Rangers in the Winter Classic at loanDepot Park in Miami on January 2nd of 2026.
«Stanley Cups, strings of sellouts and the exponential growth of youth and high school hockey throughout the state have demonstrated that Florida is a hockey hotbed,» NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said in an official statement. «Outdoor NHL games in the Sunshine State? Never let it be said that our League isn't willing to accept a challenge.»
George Richards who writes for Florida Hockey Now was the first one to report that the Bruins were in discussion for an outdoor game next season.
This is going to be the Boston Bruins sixth outdoor game which will tie them with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and Philadelphia Flyers for the second-most in the NHL.
The Boston Bruins have an incredible 4-1-0 record when playing in outdoor games and are going to look to make it 5-1-0 when they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning.
