After being traded to the Florida Panthers at the NHL trade deadline, it was unclear when Brad Marchand was going to make his debut with the organization, but last night he did and the Panthers issued a major announcement regarding him following his debut.

Don Sweeney decided to have a fire sale during the NHL trade deadline, and one of the most shocking trades he made was trading Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers.
The Bruins got a very underwhelming return for Marchand, and fans were upset, but that was due to the fact that he requested a trade there, and was also injured.
Earlier in the week the Panthers revealed that they were aiming for Friday, for Marchand to make his debut with the team, and just hours before the game on Friday they confirmed that Marchand was indeed going to make his debut.

In just his first game with the team, Brad Marchand already made some history.

Florida Panthers With A Major Announcement Involving Marchand

Marchand, in his debut with the Florida Panthers came up big when it mattered, and that's exactly why the Panthers traded for him.
In his debut he saw 16:30 of ice time, had 4 shots on goal, 2 hits and 2 blocks, and set up his new teammate Sam Bennett for the overtime winner.

With his assist on Bennett's overtime goal, Brad Marchand already made history with his new team, becoming just the second player in Panthers history to record an overtime point during their debut. The other player was Aleksi Heponiemi who did it in 2021.
With his assist on Sam Bennett's OT goal tonight, Brad Marchand joined Aleksi Heponiemi (Jan. 30, 2021 at DET) as the only #FlaPanthers skaters to record an overtime point in their debut with the club.
The Florida Panthers are looking like a scary team with Brad Marchand in their lineup, and look like they already have chemistry.
