As the Boston Bruins prepare for their biggest off-season in years as GM Don Sweeney tore down the core, they are in for a big re-tooling process, and we may have just found out their first move in it
Boston Bruins general manager
Don Sweeney tore down the core group aside from
David Pastrnak at this years March 7 NHL trade deadline, now what's in store?
Many believe that the aging general manager should be
fired, but while those discussions continue, they are beginning their re-tooling off-season with a reported signing already in talks!
According to Boston Bruins reporter
Jimmy Murphy, the team is aiming to sign one of the most sought after free agents available on the market currently.
A handful of teams are interested in signing 24-year old Canadian born
Dalton Bancroft, Murphy
wrote.
The Bruins attended Bancroft's game in Toledo this past weekend, which many were expected to be his last of the season.
That was until Bancroft and his Cornell University team upset Michigan State in a shocking upset win, keeping their seasons hopes alive.
The 24-year old forward is no small player, standing at a staggering 6-foot-3 and 210lbs, his physicality and goal scoring ability could be the glue the Bruins need for this re-tooling process upcoming.
Bancroft and his group now face the ultimate challenge, taking on Boston University on Saturday.
If Cornell University loses, expect the Bruins to do all in their power to bring this sought after free agent to the city of Boston.
