The NHL issued a surprising statement on Jeremy Swayman heading into the new year
The Boston Bruins are gearing up for a revamped offseason that's leaving fans unsure of what product to expect on the ice, signings by GM Don Sweeney, the lineup is looking a bit lackluster. But one thing is for certain, and that's the Bruins' backbone, Jeremy Swayman.
NHL Public Relations has issued a statement regarding Jeremy Swayman heading into the upcoming season, and fans should buckle up.
Despite criticism towards the netminder for a shakey 2024-25 season, you can't really blame him for the product Don Sweeney put on the ice in front of him.
This upcoming season will really be a true test to see how Swayman can perform on a solidified roster.
Swayman set to take another step with Marco Sturm behind the bench
A surprise revelation by NHLPR revealed that Marco Sturm, the newest Bruins head coach, led the Ontario Reign of the AHL to the third-fewest shots on goal per game in an entire season last year.
A stat line that's likely making Swayman smile ear to ear.
"Jeremy Swayman has a chance to improve under new head coach Marco Sturm, who previously coached Ontario Reign of the AHL and helped the team allow the third-fewest shots on goal per game (26.3) last season."
NHLPR also identified through their new NHL Edge stat tracker a very plausible
David Pastrnak stat.
"David Pastrnak scored 40-plus goals for the fifth time and reached 100-plus points for the third time in his career last season. Pastrnak leads the NHL in both goals (151) and shots on goal (1,108) over the past three campaigns. #NHLStats"
With Swayman and Pastrnak both poised for a formidable season under a fresh bench boss, Bruins fans should be excited for opening night.
