As of right now, the Boston Bruins are currently out of a playoff spot, and with the trade deadline approaching, there is a good chance that some major changes come to the Boston Bruins roster, as they are set to start their retool.
ABC had a broadcast of the Boston Bruins last matchup before the break against the Vegas Golden Knights, and Emily Kaplan reported that the Bruins were receiving a bunch of calls from around the league on
Morgan Geekie,
Brandon Carlo, and
Trent Frederic.
Emily Kaplan on ABC called the Bruins a trade deadline "X-factor" and said they're "listening on a lot right now, both adding and subtracting." Said they're getting "a bunch of calls" on Frederic, Geekie and Carlo. Adds that other teams don't believe they'll trade Marchand.
Geekie has played in 52 games this season, and has 17 goals, 12 assists for 29 points. With his recent offensive play, there has been a lot of speculation about the Bruins sending him to a different organization at the trade deadline.
Three contending teams Geekie could be traded to if made available
The Winnipeg Jets could use some help down the middle in their push for a Stanley Cup, and Morgan Geekie could be the perfect option for them. Geekie could easliy take over the 2C spot on Winnipeg's roster, and they are definitely a team to keep an eye on.
The Devils are looking for some secondary scoring, and Morgan Geekie could be exactly that for them. He would more likely take over the 3C spot, but could also be slotted in anywhere in the Devils lineup.
The Kings are also looking for some secondary scoring, but from the wings and Morgan Geekie could be a prime candidate for that. Geekie could give the Kings a top an offensive boost and make them a better team come the playoffs.
