Edmonton Oilers star froward
Zach Hyman just got hit with some terrible news and it was just confirmed by multiple insiders.
Jason Gregor, an insider for the Oilers was the first to report that he was most likely going to miss the remainder of the series against the Stars.
Now head coach Kris Knoblauch has confirmed that he underwent surgery today for an upper-body injury and is going to miss the remainder of the Playoffs:
Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch says Zach Hyman is getting surgery today and is likely out for the season
Knoblauch kept a tight lip when talking about the injury, and wouldn't say anything else other then it was an upper-body injury, but also revealed he will not be back for awhile.
Insider Rick Dhaliwal stated that the surgery will be on Hyman's wrist.
Zach Hyman. Broken Wrist. Will under go surgery.
He saw just 3 minutes and 11 seconds before leaving the game with this injury.
Hyman has been a big player for the Oilers during the postseason, leading the NHL with 111 hits in 15 games, and having 11 points five being goals, and six assists in 15 games so far.
This is a big loss for the Oilers, Hyman would play a big role if they make it to the finals against a gritty Panthers team.
