Former Boston Bruins forward A.J. Greer fined by NHL Player Safety

Things got pretty out of hand during Thursday's night game between the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, leading to a former Boston Bruins forward being fined.

On Thursday night, the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning faced off against each other and their rivalry was on full display.
During the game, former Boston Bruins forward A.J. Greer was given a 10-minute misconduct in the first period for a cross-check.
The cross-check forced Brandon Hagel to leave the game and did not return.
The clip has been going viral on social media where Greer is seen cross-checking Hagel and then high-sticking him and punching him in the head.
Former Bruins, and Bolts forward Pat Maroon commented on the play calling it a gutless move.

Greer fined by NHL Player Safety

Apparently NHL and the NHL Player of Safety Department did not believe it was as bad as everyone else thought.
Today, the NHL Player of Safety Department ended up handing out a fine to Greer, for $2,213.54, which is the maximum allowed under the CBA.
Florida's A.J. Greer has been fined $2,213.54, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for roughing Tampa Bay's Brandon Hagel.
