Three NHL players have been placed on waivers today, including a 1000-plus-game veteran.
As per Chris Johnston of Sportsnet:
''Placed on NHL waivers today: Zach Sanford (NSH),
Magnus Hellberg (SEA) and Wayne Simmonds (TOR).''
Simmonds, 34, hasn't been in the Maple Leafs lineup since November 5th and has appeared in just four games this season. He has recorded one assist, three shots on goal, three blocks and ten hits.
Hellberg, 31, signed with the Seattle Kraken this summer and is now on waivers for the third time this season. He was first claimed from Seattle by the Ottawa Senators and then claimed back by the Kraken when the Senators placed him on waivers.
Sanford, 28, is on waivers for the first time in his six-year career. He won a Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019 but has bounced around teams since. The forward has one goal and one assist in eight games with Nashville this season.
