The Chicago Wolves and the Stockton Heat are currently playing in the Western Conference Final in the Calder Cup playoffs of the AHL.
In a 0-0 tie halfway through the second, Chicago goaltender
Alex Lyon decided to make things interesting when he stepped in front of an on-rushing
Martin Pospisil of the Heat.
Pospisil was given a two-minute minor for goaltender interference on the play. Although Lyon is still in his crease, he steps right in the way of the opposing player, who, in turn, makes no effort to avoid contact at the same time.
In my opinion, this is an incident where you hand out no penalty or give them both one. It appears that the goaltender seems to sell the call a little bit as well.
To make matters worse for the Heat, Alex Lyon collected a 23-save shutout, and the Wolves are now up 3-0 in the series.
