Just days after acquiring Hampus Lindholm, the Bruins are now interested in his former teammate.
Both Swedes played their entire careers together with the Anaheim Ducks so it would make sense for the B's to try and reunite them today.
Hampus Lindholm was the Ducks 6th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, while
Rickard Rakell was the 30th overall selection of the previous year's draft. Both are 28 years old and have been solid contributors to the Ducks organization.
The latest rumours circulating on the TSN Trade Deadline show is that Bruins GM Don Sweeney would love to reunite both Swedish World Champions.
A two-time 30-goal scorer, Rakell is 6'1'' and 196 pounds and can play on both wings. He is in the final season of his current contract and has amassed 28 points (16G-12A) in 51 games this season.
There are only a few hours left before we find out if Sweeney makes a move for the Ducks forward or not! Adding a highly-skilled element such as Rakell would turn the B's into legitimate cup contenders.
