Leading up to the final game of the 4 Nations Face-Off, there was a lot of tension building between members of Team USA, and Team Canada, especially Brandon Hagel and the Tkachuk brothers.
Canada got the last laugh, beating Team USA 3-2 in overtime and Brandon Hagel took a shot at both the Tkachuk brothers with a social media post.
With the 4 Nations being over, all players will not report back to their respective teams, but Brandon Hagel thought it would be a good idea to get a group chat going to keep in touch with his championship teammates.
Group Chat Drama
This was of course a shot at Team USA and mainly the Tkachuk brothers as it was revealed after their first meeting against each other that they had a group chat going and had planned for them and J.T. Miller to all drop the gloves to make a statement.
Tkachuk bros says Matthew: «This is as big of a game as it gets - Saturday night, in Montreal, that was incredible.»
Added the opening was more than just hockey.
«We had an absolute blast from the start.»
Brady said in the group chat earlier today that helped set the start.
After hearing about this, Brandon Hagel made a comment stating that he wasn't dropping the gloves for the cameras like the Tkachuk brothers, but instead for his flag and country.
Brandon Hagel: what I did last game I did for the flag. Not for the cameras
Well it appears now they do, and it's called 'Champions' as Team Canada ended up defeating Team USA in overtime after no one else but Connor McDavid called game.
