An NHL legend and former Boston Bruin shared that he was involved in a car accident.
One of the greatest players to ever play the game of hockey, Jaromir Jagr, has issued a statement on his official Instagram (@jj68jaromirjagr) after getting into a car accident in his home country of the Czech Republic. He shared that he was hit by a tram that runs through Prague but that he was at fault for the accident. Paramedics attended the scene of the accident, but he managed to escape without significant injuries. Jagr described the crash in his statement:
"Dear fans, but everyone else. I would just like to tell you briefly what happened today when I was involved in the accident. It was my fault. On Plzeňská, I tried to cross from one direction to another. I checked the other side and drove into it at the right timeBut there was a lot of traffic and I didn't have time to react to the tram, which was going at high speed in the same direction as me. I noticed her half a meter in front of me, at the last minute. I thought it was my end. I have always believed that force majeure has a hand over me, and today I have seen it again.Thank God! And it also surprised me and actually saved my KIA, from which, despite what it looked like, I climbed out without injury. But most importantly, nothing happened to the passengers on the tram. I would like to end this sad event. And I thank everyone for their understanding and also for their help to those who intervened on the spot"
Good to hear the Jagr is doing well after the accident!
Jaromir Jagr joined the Boston Bruins on April 2nd, 2013, after he was acquired from the Dallas Stars at the Trade Deadline in exchange for Lane MacDermid, Cody Payne and a conditional third-round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He made his Bruins debut two days later, scoring the lone goal in Boston's 1–0 win over the New Jersey Devils. In just 11 regular-season games, Jagr collected 2 goals and 7 assists with the Bruins.
When Boston reached the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals against the Chicago Blackhawks, he set a new record for the longest gap between Finals appearances at 21 years, surpassing the previous record of 19 years, which was established by Gary Roberts in 2008. Jagr appeared in 22 postseason games with the Bruins, recording no goals and 10 assists, as the team lost in the Finals to the Blackhawks.
