The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney don't have too many contract headaches to deal with this summer but aren't in the ideal cap situation either.
There's been some recent chatter of a possible David Backes buyout.
The 35 year old has two years left on his deal that carries a $6million cap hit per season.
Backes watched Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals against his former team from the press box as a healthy scratch and you can't imagine he was too happy about.
The Bruins haven't been too happy with Backes performance over the last season either.
However it sounds like the two sides will still try and have to figure something out.
John Shannon of Sportsnet reports that a buyout between the two sides is "unlikely" according to his sources.
