Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy took a hit by former Bruins forward Milan Lucic in Boston on October 11th and hasn't been the same since.

McAvoy was able to tough it out for a couple of more games but after the Bruins October 18th game in Edmonton, the defenseman said something didn't feel right.

With no real answer to what exactly happened to McAvoy, the Bruins are concerned and have no estimated return date.

"It's stretched out a little now," said coach Bruce Cassidy. "We had no idea when it first happened. We related that, and we still don't [have an idea] to some extent. So yeah . . . there's a bit of concern"

"He's a 20-year-old and you want him to be in the lineup a) for selfish reasons because he's one of our top defenseman and b) for his own well-being. I think at that age all he wants to do is go to the rink and play every day. Hopefully whatever it is he turns the corner sooner rather than later for his sake and for ours."

McAvoy hasn't even been skating by himself and there's no timetable as to when he'll be on the ice at all.

He's been hanging around Warrior Arena, so at least that's a good sign.
