Ex-Boston Bruins head coach Don Cherry publicly calls out Ron Maclean and it's getting ugly

It seems like former Boston Bruins head coach Don Cherry has had enough, and is publicly calling out Ron Maclean.
Back in 2019, Don Cherry was fired from Hockey Night in Canada, where he was the host for Coach's Corner. His firing was due to a rant about the lack of people wearing poppies on Remembrance Day
During his rant, Ron Maclean nodded along in agreement with Don Cherry, but later would throw him under the bus.
"The attack on immigrants was improper and I was not happy with it - it goes against my ethics," said MacLean in a recent interview with The Kingston Whig Standard.
Maclean ended up betraying one of his long-time friends, and tried to cover it up by stating that Cherry was looking for a way out.
"He was ready to have an exit strategy. From that moment on, he was plotting a way out. The first opportunity (to end Coach's Corner) was going to be a happy one for Don," said MacLean in an attempt to change the narrative. "And I thought he did it well."
He even tried to make it look like it was a positive thing that Cherry ended up getting fired:
"Ultimately, that's what needed to happen," said MacLean. "It was liberating. Don needed out and the time was right. (Remembrance Day) was his last swing, taking a stance that's unpopular, but that feels good in his world. For Don, it's all a fight. It's all a battle. So he was happy and I'm happy for him."
All of Don Cherry's family have refuted Maclean's vision of the events that happened.
"It makes no sense," said Cherry's son Tim Cherry as per the Toronto Sun.
Don Cherry publicly calls out Ron Maclean
Since being fired, Cherry has not thrown Maclean under the bus, but his recent comments seemed to have sparked his breaking point, and Don Cherry has had enough.
"I am very disappointed in Ron, that he would bring this up," said Cherry of MacLean's recent comments. "I am very disappointed that he would reach back five years and do this."
Cherry stated that he was not looking for a way out, and that Ron Maclean completely made that up.
"No, I wasn't looking for a way out. I was surprised," Cherry said. "I never even thought of that."
The former Boston Bruins head coach did not insult his former friend, but it's clear that their friendship has come to an end, and there won't be one there again.
"I don't have any feelings toward Ron," said Cherry.
According to multiple reports, Don Cherry's wife stated that Ron Maclean is no longer welcome in the Cherry household.
"Not with the wife he isn't," said Cherry of MacLean being welcomed in his home.
