The NHL Alumni Association is heartbroken to learn that Lyndon Byers has passed away at the age of 61.
Lyndon was a second-round selection of the Boston Bruins in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft and played 261 career games for the Bruins from 1984 to 1992, endearing himself to the Bruins faithful with his hard-nosed style of play. He went on to play 18 games for the San Jose Sharks during the 1992-93 campaign.
After retiring from professional hockey, Lyndon found a career in radio broadcasting, being heard on Boston radio waves for over two decades. Lyndon also had a knack for acting and appeared in several television shows and films over the years.
We send our deepest condolences to Lyndon's family, friends, and former teammates during this incredibly difficult time.
