All the Boston Bruins needed was a single point to make the playoffs.
Instead, they skated away from their Saturday matinee matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins with two points and a 2-1 win.
Jeremy Swayman was back to his winning ways, the rookie coming through with a 23-save effort.
As for the Bruins skaters, they clearly came out of the gate with a purpose. The B's found the back of the net twice in the opening two minutes before putting on a defensive clinic the rest of the way.
