While the Boston Bruins missed out on landing some secondary scoring help, the Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney did solidify their backup goalie position.

The team locked up Jaroslav Halak on a two year contract after letting Anton Khudobin walk.
While it'll be Halak's first time playing for the Bruins, he'll be walking into the locker room with a very familiar face in fellow country man, Zdeno Chara.
"Every time we play on a national team, I really get along with him," Halak said. "Obviously, he achieved a lot playing for Boston, being the captain for a long time and well known there. I think he is a great guy and a really good friend."

Being a former Montreal Canadien, Halak is very familiar to the intense market he's walking into and looking forward to it.
"It was always intense every time we played Boston. I think it was really intense, the intensity on the ice, in the stands the fans were always involved. No matter where the game was, whether it was in Montreal or Boston, it was always loud in the buildings," said Halak.

The 33 year old isn't looking to steal Rask's job, however will try and be elite when called upon.
"I'll try to help out any way I can," Halak said yesterday. "I'll try to fit in as soon as possible. We'll see what happens. I'm 33, I know Tuukka is a little younger than me (31). I'm just looking forward to being with him. I know he's an elite goalie and he proved that every year. Every time I get the chance, I'll try to help out and we'll see what happens."

After a couple of days of reflection, how do you feel about the new Bruins backup goalie?
