24 hours after the Flames decided to pursue team elected arbitration, it appears the two parties are headed for an imminent divorce.
The Flames filing for arbitration buys them enough time that they can negotiate a trade without the threat of an offer sheet.
Flames reporters Ryan Leslie and Dean Molberg reported the star winger is not happy with management:
"Tkachuk is no longer happy in Calgary with the departure of his linemate."
There had been rumours in the past that Tkachuk was unhappy in Calgary, but with arbitration pending the Flames can't afford to lose Tkachuk for nothing.
If the Flames move Tkachuk it is very likely the deal will be very futures heavy and could signal the beginning of the Flames retool.
