Montreal Canadiens and Minnesota Wild complete a deal for a goaltender
The Montreal Canadiens have clearly had issues in goal this season. Today they turned to the Minnesota Wild to hopefully address that position via trade. The Canadiens acquired veteran goaltender Andrew "The Hamburgler" Hammond.
Hammond hasn't seen time in the NHL since the 2017-2018 season, when he played a single game for the Colorado Avalanche. Hammond is most notably known for his 2014-2015 season for the Ottawa Senators when he went 20-1-2 to get the Senators into the playoffs. Over his career Hammond's career record is 27-15-6.
The 34-year-old has played 11 games this season for the Iowa Wild, putting up a 6-2-3 record with a save percentage .908 and goals against average of 2.44.
The Bruins will see the Canadiens next on March 21st, the evening of the trade deadline when the Canadiens are expected to look vastly different.
