NHLPA releases how much players make for playoff success
The NHL's Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) provides a single lump-sum payment of $20,000,000 to be made by the NHL to its players on account of a playoff "Player Fund."
It is then divided among the players on the teams participating in the various postseason rounds and based upon the club's finish. The NHLPA determines the amount.
The Player Fund allocation for 2021/22 is as follows:
Presidents' Trophy Winner: $781,250 (to 1 team)
First Round Losers: $3,125,000 divided between eight teams ($390,625 each).
Second Round Losers: $3,125,000 divided between four teams ($781,250 each).
Third Round Losers: $3,750,000 divided between two teams ($1,875,000 each).
Stanley Cup Finalist: $3,437,500 (to 1 team)
Stanley Cup Champions: $5,781,250 (to 1 team)
