Johnny ''Chief'' Bucyk is, and forever will be, one of the best to suit up for the Black and Gold.
On this day, 48 years ago, Bucyk became the first Boston Bruins player to reach an incredible personal milestone.
As per author Mike Commito:
''On this day in 1975, Johnny Bucyk became the first player to score 500 career goals as a member of the Bruins.''
Bucyk spent 21 of his 23 NHL seasons with the Bruins, and in his career, registered 556 goals and 813 assists in 1,540 games.
