The Boston Bruins are uncertain about the future of their captain Patrice Bergeron, but getting him to come back next season is number one on the list of offseason priorities.
Apparently, Bruins management is already looking into number two on that list, which is signing superstar forward David Pastrnak to a contract extension. Recent reports are that the Boston Bruins are looking to offer Pasta a max-term extension this offseason, which would be an eight-year contract.
Pastrnak's last contract was a six-year, $40,000,000 contract, with an AAV of $6.66mil expires at the end of the 2022-23 season. When asked back in November of 2018 if he regretted signing a «reasonable» deal, Pasta responded:
"Not at all. It's a dream come true for me. I could be playing in the Czech for a couple hundred bucks a game."
Hopefully, he has the same mindset for the next one too!
