The Columbus Blue Jackets are obvious sellers for the upcoming Trade Deadline and their biggest piece is Vladislav Gavrikov.
And the club reportedly has a deal ''in place'' for the sought after defenseman. However, according to Adam Portzline of The Athletic, there's currently a snag in the process:
''Gavrikov missed his third consecutive game while the Blue Jackets finalize a trade ahead of the March 3rd NHL deadline. GM Jarmo Kekalainen would not say what the holdup is, but it's believed the Jackets have a trade in place that requires another transaction to take place first.''
Gavrikov has been most linked to the Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers. Both are very tight to the cap so the ''another transaction'' to be made makes a case that it's either team.
Don Sweeney is actively shopping for help at the left hand defense position, as they currently are the front runners for the 6'3'' defender.
