The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney just haven't been able to garner any interest for their disgruntled forward.
Jake DeBrusk requested a trade out of town a couple of months ago but still sits in the Bruins locker room.
He's shown some improvement over the last little stretch with a total of 13 points in 33 games this season, but it's just not enough to prove he's a top six forward.
After months of waiting, the B's might have finally found a suitor.
NHL insider Jeff Marek reported on this weekend's edition of Hockey Night In Canada that the Bruins have had discussions with a Eastern Conference team about DeBrusk.
"The New York Rangers one of the more interesting teams to watch come trade deadline time," said Marek. "They are having a really good season and looking for at least one more forward. They've inquired about Jake DeBrusk of the Boston Bruins."
It would be an interesting fit for DeBrusk who could slot in at various spots in the Rangers lineup.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of a return Sweeney might eventually get for DeBrusk.
