An insider has just confirmed it for the Bruins and Martin Necas and it's huge
It seems likely that Martin Necas could be traded soon between now and the NHL Entry Draft.
There has been much fervor about the forward, who would provide a great secondary-scoring option to many teams in the NHL.
One of the is the Boston Bruins, who could use the forwards to repair the top six worn down by attrition and retirements.
There's been a reported number of 7 teams interested in acquiring the wingers services for the 2024-2025 NHL season.
Among the teams named: the Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens, and Winnipeg Jets are vying for his services according to NHL Insider Pierre LeBrun of TSN.
If the Bruins in fact do make an offer to the Hurricanes to trade to Necas, they may have to pay an expensive price.
They could ship out their 2025 1st round pick, which they still own according to PuckPedia, and could send someone like Andrew Peeke attached if another piece is needed to make it work.
This could be considered a high price for Necas who had a down year in 2023-2024, but in the long run, he still has plenty of upside.
Necas, 25, has 53 points in in 2023-2024 and 71 points in 82 games, in 2022-2023.
