Major development in the Boston Bruins acquiring Sam Reinhart
Sam Reinhart's contract expires at the end of the 2023-2024 regular season and has been one of the best players the Florida Panthers have.
He has had an outstanding 94-point season( 57 G, 37 A) which is a step up in production from his last two seasons as a 30-goal scorer.
He is set to be paid, as his $6.5 Million AAV contract is finished and he will be one of the top UFAs in the 2024 class.
Discussions between Reinhart and GM Bill Zito are ongoing according to The Hockey News, but there's been nothing definite as far as term or value goes.
Should things go south, there's no doubt that Reinhart could test free agency and the Boston Bruins should be there, to give Reinhart an offer to wear the spoked-B.
According to some projections, Reinhart could command a long-term contract, upwards of 8 years, with a $9.8 M-$10 M value.
With the Panthers having to sign several UFAs this summer, plus
Sam Bennett and
Carter Verhaeghe, could Sam Reinhart but the next Panthers cap casualty?
While Sweeney promises aggressive moves this summer, this one should be a no-brain, as Reinhart can be utilized in all situations and has deadly finishing capabilities.
