As the NHL Entry Draft gets closer by the day, It appears that Ottawa Senators general manager Steve Staios has reached out to the Boston Bruins regarding goaltender Linus Ullmark.

It's become clear that general manager Don Sweeney will be making a trade with Ullmark as he is preparing to sign Jeremy Swayman to a long-term deal With a large price tag. The Bruins simply do not have room to keep both goaltenders as there are other needs to be attended to within the lineup and young goaltenders pushing for a job from Providence.

The Ottawa Senators are a team looking for goaltender help as they continue to struggle to find a consistent starter who will give them the wins, they need to become a playoff team again. With their young core growing and developing, a strong goaltender is needed and Ullmark would fit the bill.

The Senators are also open to trading their 7th overall pick which would likely come back to the Bruins as a goaltender could fetch a price that high. Even though Ullmark is an older goaltender, he brings experience to the lineup, and he holds some cost certainty with a $5,000,000 cap hit going into next season.

It remains to be seen on whether this trade will happen or not but both general managers will entertain offers.
