While the Bruins are in the midst of their offseason decisions, with a much needed re-tool anticipated to erupt, fans have begun to speculate what is expected to go down in Boston this summer.
And one specific trade that has been looming in the rumor mill involves the team's starting net-minder.
Boston Bruins' net-minder Jeremy Swayman has been linked to a trade this offseason
Speculations have risen within the Boston Bruins organization regarding their goaltender, Jeremy Swayman, as he has been rumoured to be a possible trade candidate this summer due to his underwhelming 2024/25 NHL season.
Following this news, the Boston Bruins were linked in a potential blockbuster trade with the Edmonton Oilers, which involved Jeremy Swayman and two others.
However, as new insight continues to surface, this deal has been revealed to be a failed trade, as the Boston Bruins re-signed one of the players which were a focal point of the blockbuster trade.
Mason Lohrei re-signs with the Boston Bruins on a two-year, $6.4M contract
«The #NHLBruins re-sign
Mason Lohrei to a two-year, $6.4 million deal w/an AAV of $3.2. Solid bridge deal for both sides IMO. If Lohrei can deep developing his offensive game and improve his play in his own zone he'll be in line for a raise»
Now, with Lohrei's future in Boston being confirmed, it does not necessarily mean that Swayman will be wearing the 'B' on his jersey for the 2025/26 NHL season.
