Don Sweeney has stated it's time for the Bruins to be aggressive and improve the team's offense, which has been crippled by attrition recently.
With the loss of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, they need a true #1 center, and skilled players to help someone like David Pastrnak.
They're rumored to be interested in the Anaheim Ducks' own Trevor Zegras, who is an RFA signed at $5.75 Million AAV for the next two-season.
This means he'd be under team control and could be a top-six solution, for an offense that is deep, like a stream.
Zegras could be an offensive weapon, as his prior two seasons saw him score 23 goals in two seasons prior to this year.
While due to injury he only scored 15 points( 6 G, 9 A) in 31 games with the Anaheim Ducks.
He could be a great offensive addition but would need some rounding out as his two-way skills would put John Tortorella in a pretzel, with a -45.
Zegras could be a solution, but would likely need sheltered and need a good coach to develop his defensive game, as an unfinished NHL product.
At the end of his contract in 2025-2026 Zegras would be arbitration eligible, which would be something for Sweeney to consider when making the move
