An unexpected development has surfaced involving the Toronto Maple Leafs trading Mitch Marner and it's huge for the Bruins.
Frank Seravalli from the Daily faceoff reported today that the Toronto Maple Leafs have no expectations on re-signing Mitch Marner and are trying to get a deal done as soon as this week.
«I think the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to do everything within their power to try and make something happen,» Seravalli stated, adding fuel to the already rampant trade rumors.
Mitch Marner has always been great for the Toronto Maple Leafs, especially in the regular-season, but he has struggled and seems to dissaper for the team during the playoffs.
There were rumours that the "core 4" wouldn't be back together heading into next season after the Maple Leafs got eliminated from the playoffs and Frank Seravalli has confirmed it.
This could be big for the Bruins, they are looking to bring in some secondary scoring and Marner would bring exactly that. If the Boston Bruins can somehow get Linus Ullmark to waive his no-trade clause and send him along with other things to the Maple Leafs, it could be game-changing for the team.
Although chances are this will not happen, if Marner is available for trade, Don Sweeney has to check in and see if he can make a deal happen to acquire Mitch Marner.
