A major announcement was made involving ex-Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara: It was just confirmed

A recent announcement just confirmed that former Boston Bruins captain and defenseman Zdeno Chara has officially been elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

The 2025 Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration is going to be held on Monday, November 10th, in Toronto.

Chara, ended up spending 14 seasons with the Boston Bruins, where he served as a captain for his entire stint in Boston.

During his time with the Boston Bruins, the 6-foot-9 defenseman appeared in 1,023 career games, scoring a total of 148 goals, 333 assists for 481 points.

He currently sits eighth in franchise history in games played, and third in points by a defenseman with 481, behind Ray Bourque who had 1,506, and Bobby Orr with 888.

In 2011, Chara ended up winning the Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins, bringing the city of Boston their first Cup since 1972.

During his time he ended up appearing in two more Stanley Cup Finals in 2013, and 2019, but failed to hoist the Cup both times.

Chara also won the Norris Trophy in the 2008-09 season when he scored a career high in goals with 19.

All together, Chara played in the NHL for 25 years appearing in 1,680 career games split between the New York Islanders, Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, and Ottawa Senators scoring a total of 209 goals and 471 assists for 680 points.
