The Bruins organization is seemingly dealing with a familiar net-minder scenario as they were just last season, and it looks like it may just lead another goaltender on their way out of Boston.

Last summer the Boston Bruins dealt their former net-minder, Linus Ullmark, and it wasn't just due to Jeremy Swayman's breakout or his looming contract extension, both Swayman and Ullmark made it known during their final interviews of the year that they wanted more stats, around 55 each.
However, the math didn't work, with only 82 games on the schedule, Ullmark was ultimately left as the odd man out and Swayman stepped into the full-time starter role.
Jeremy Swayman made a career-high 58 starts, and although he thrived with the workload, backup goaltender, Joonas Korpisalo, wasn't too thrilled.
Joonas Korpisalo started just 24 games this 2024/25 NHL season and made it clear at break-up day that he wasn't too happy.
"I don't think there's any goalie in the league who's really comfortable playing 20 to 25 games," Korpisalo said at Bruins break-up day last week. "So I'm going to push for more games and we'll see what happens."
«I was pretty open when I got into the season, and always, you just try to put everything you have out there, make your mark to gain some playing time," Korpisalo admitted. "But you just do what's best for you every day, and try your best and work hard, and that way you might earn some more playing time. But you know, sometimes not up to me [with] who's going to play more. And whatever role it is, you do the best you can in that role.»
It appears the Bruins will have to make a decision as to whether they want to part ways with Korpisalo or Jeremy Swayman this off-season, as neither are content with being a backup goaltender.
