A new discussion has surfaced regarding whether or not the Boston Bruins can expect their interim head coach, Joe Sacco, to return to the organization following a brutal season.

To begin the 2024/25 campaign, the Bruins stumbled out of the gate with a terrible 8-9-3 record, when general manager, Don Sweeney, fired the team's original head coach, Jim Montgomery, and named Sacco as the organization's new interim head coach.
Despite the switch, the Boston Bruins still underwent a horrible season, that would eventually leave the team to be absent from any postseason contention as they stand in the NHL basement of the Eastern Conference Wild Card division.
However, the Bruins' broadcast team announcers, Andy Brickley and Judd Sirott, and NESN's Sophia Jurksztowics, discussed three possible scenarios for Sacco's future now that the regular season is over in a recent episode of 'The Hockey Hub' podcast.

Three suggested scenarios regarding the future of the Boston Bruins' interim head coach Joe Sacco

«One scenario could be that he comes back as the head coach,» Jurksztowicz said. «The other is that he remains on the staff as an assistant, which would be weird to go from head coach down to an assistant, or he's not with the Bruins organization anymore.»

Without giving insight of what their predictions were for what will be the outcome on Joe Sacco's future, the announcers, Brickly and Sirott, began to give their take on what the Bruins' interim head coach has to offer.
«I think the Bruins value Joe Sacco as a hockey coach,» Brickley said. «A guy that has the ability to teach. A guy that has a good understanding of the game. A guy that can message the right way to today's players.»

«I think Joe Sacco as a head coach, I think he went in with his eyes wide open in the situation that he was inheriting when they moved on from Jim Montgomery. I think he understood the challenges that were in front of him.»

Brickley then began to add that although he has 'no idea where the Bruins go from here,' he believes this Original Six franchise wants Sacco as 'part of the equation' moving forward.
