A player was just made available to Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney for free

The Boston Bruins are seeking to complete their ongoing rebuild whilst intending to become contenders for the 2025/26 NHL season.

And while it will take this franchise some time to finish such a task, a recent statement suggests that the organization may just be one step closer to these hopes.

As a player has just been made available for free.

Yesterday, September 2, the Anaheim Ducks officially announced they have placed a defenseman on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

This defenseman is Rodwin Dionicio.

21-year old, Rodwin Dionicio, has yet to take the leap into the National Hockey League, but has shown immense skill since being drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, where he was the 1st pick, in the 5th round (129th overall).

This young talent could undoubtedly be a great addition to the Boston Bruins' AHL affiliate team, the Providence Bruins, to receive a fair shot at showing his value.

Not to mention, Dionicio wouldn't cost the Boston Bruins a dime to steal from the Ducks.
