Longtime Boston Bruins defenseman hits an all time career low following a recent announcement.

The calendar has flipped to September, meaning we are officially deep into the offseason and the 2025/26 NHL season is merely here.
That being said, there are still a number of players around the National Hockey League who still remain unsigned and in search for new contracts.
And while majority of the talent pool has died down considerably throughout this summer, there are still surprising enough quality players remaining on the market that can undoubtedly offer teams in need in almost every position.
One of these players who still available of the open market, is questionably still unsigned this late into the summer.
That player is longtime Boston Bruins member and defenseman, Matt Grzelcyk.

Former Boston Bruins defenseman, Matt Grzelcyk, hits career low as he has yet to be signed this late into the offseason

Matt Grzelcyk spent majority of his professional hockey career within Boston, as this defenseman spent his first eight seasons within the National Hockey League as a Bruin.
On July 1, 2024, this loyal and longtime Bruin departed from the organization.
The Pittsburgh Penguins signed this skilled player to a one-year, $2.75 million contract, where he later made his way to the open market.
Surprisingly enough, Grzelcyk is still available. Even after coming off a 82 game season where he recorded one goals and 39 assists for a total of 40 points.
Many have begun to believe the reason behind Grzelcyk still being available has to do with the fact that most projections have him earning a significant raise this upcoming season.
However, he would still be a relatively manageable asset for most NHL teams in terms of salary cap.
