Insight from a former Boston Bruins forward has revealed the uncomfortable position he was put in following signing with the Vancouver Canucks.

Back during March of 2022, the Boston Bruins signed forward, Jake DeBrusk, to a two-year, $8 million contract, where he would eventually set NHL career highs.
These career highs erupted the following season, where he accumulated 27 goals, and 50 points within just 64 games.
However, following his two-year deal, the Boston Bruins were seemingly not looking to extend this forward, as he quickly became a free agent and signed a seven-year, $38.5 million contract wth the Vancouver Canucks on July, 1, 2024.
Despite receiving a solid contract and a place to call home for the next seven years, DeBrusk was quickly put in an uncomfortable position following his signing.

An internal conflict between star forward J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson appeared to have impacted the entire team, from the players on the roster all the way up to the organization's upper management.
This conflict concluded in the Canucks eventually making a trade which would send J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers, but now, new insight from newly acquired defenseman, Jake DeBrusk, has surfaced.
This past week, DeBrusk shared some intel regarding his thoughts on being caught in the middle of this feud.
«J.T. had me over for dinner a couple of times and I love him a lot," said DeBrusk as per the Edmonton Journal. "I was sitting beside Petey in the dressing room and we hung out a lot. It became a thing where I was almost the middle man."

He continued:
"In all fairness I wish the best for J.T. and his family, They welcomed me," said DeBrusk. "For me it's unfortunate. I wanted to play longer with them but it's not my decision. Trades happen all the time. Yeah, it was a crazy time."
