The night before free agency began at the beginning of the month, Brad Marchand signed a six-year, $31.5 million contract with the Florida Panthers.

BRAD MARCHAND IS STAYING A FLORIDA PANTHER.
There was some speculation that Brad Marchand was going to return back to the Boston Bruins, but he decided to stay with the Panthers after all.
He is going to return back to Boston, as the enemy for the first time early on into the NHL season.
The NHL Network recently discussed Brad Marchand's return to TD Garden on October 21st, and it seems to dividing hockey fans.

Fans have mixed feelings on Brad Marchand's return back to Boston

Mike Rupp stated that he believes the Boston faithful will embrace the return of their former captain, but some see him as a traitor despite Don Sweeney trading him.
"I think fans again, they're going to cheer him. I mean, he's a fan favorite. We talked about great another guy we were talking about, someone, the greatest Boston Bruins to play the game and in that sweater.

«So yeah, I think they're going to be giving him a standing ovation.»

Rupp also believes that the mood could change, and thinks Marchand is going to break Bruins fans hearts during his return to TD Garden.
"He'll probably ruin their night, going out there, getting two goals and an assist, and getting under the skin of the Boston Bruins," before adding: "But he was an awesome Bruin, and he's an awesome Cat now."
E.J. Hradek, an NHL analyst went on to remind Bruins fans what the reason Brad Marchand was traded from the Bruins, and how it made more sense for him to re-sign in Florida, rather then return back to Boston.
Marchand would not have gotten the term on his new deal with the Boston Bruins like he did with the Florida Panthers.
